'Lost at Sea' Mask

This mask was actually inspired by the Decemberists song 'For My Own True Love (Lost At Sea)' from their album 'Picaresque.'  Everything was done by hand; right down to the netting/veil I knitted.  There's even a letter  (which I have transcribed) to a lost love in a bottle.  I'm still looking for a ship's stern to construct myself, but until now the plastic one will have to do. 'Englehorn' (Angel's Trumpet)

An homage to lost seamen and my favorite Captain. This started as a white rayon shift.  I dyed it with the German Blauviolet (which is no longer in production) and put it on my light table with a pen and ink drawing by Luis Royo I have always admired.  Some designs are traditional celtic, some are my own done freehand.
